Nine water leakage complaints were reported across two residential areas: Jalan 3/23D and Taman Setapak, with seven homes showing visible water stains on ceilings. Fortunately, no electrical hazards or safety risks were reported.
According to "The Star", the two-hour-long torrential rain overwhelmed drainage systems in older houses, allowing rainwater to seep through cracks into upper-floor ceilings. The Kuala Lumpur Housing Maintenance Association dispatched eight technicians to assess the damage after receiving emergency notifications.

"Torrential rain serves as a natural alarm for roof maintenance," said waterproofing expert Chen Zhiqiang, who highlighted three critical pre-monsoon checks:
1. Clear debris from roof gutters;
2. Repair cracks in asphalt waterproof layers;
3. Reinforce solar panel and water tank foundations.
He specifically advised quarterly professional inspections for houses over 15 years old.

The Danau Kota property management office announced the activation of an emergency repair fund, offering affected residents a 50% subsidy for waterproofing works. With the Meteorological Department forecasting three more waves of heavy rainfall this month, authorities urge residents to prioritize roof maintenance promptly.
